Many years ago, in my first leadership position, I had to make a hard decision between punishing one of my team members for something I didn’t believe he did and potentially losing my job. Although it was one of the hardest decisions to make, I couldn’t stand the thought that I didn’t do the right thing, so I risked my security for the right thing. If I would be in the same situation, I will certainly do it again. Don’t seek to be right; seek the right thing.
