Mindset Shift #040 - From knowing growth matters to actually doing the work

Sep 29, 2019

What's the shift that needs to happen to go from knowing that personal development matters to actually doing the job?

Tune in for a short video or continue reading below.

Just this morning I was listening to Rachel Hollis.

Now Rachel is a #1 New York Times & #1 USA Today Bestselling Author, a top business podcaster and one of the most sought-after motivational speakers in the world. Known as “the Tony Robbins for women” because of her motivational, high energy style and her unique ability to empower and encourage a female audience.

She shared something that resonated with me, and today I want to talk to you about what’s the shift that happens to move from knowing that personal development is essential to actually doing the work.

Because I don’t need to tell you that personal development matters.

Most people would agree that it matters to grow themselves personally.

Is the same thing like working out every day.

Do you know that if you work out every day, you feel better?

Right.

Do you know that if you eat more fresh green vegetables, you feel better?

Sure.

Do you know that if you practice gratitude every day, if you spend time on self-care, you know for sure that it will change the quality of your life?

Yes.

Now, how often do you do it even if you know you should?

Exactly!

Is not that we don’t know is a good idea. You are not dumb. You know the power of growing as a person. The thing is you haven’t been motivated to do it, or you haven’t been motivated to go alone.

But here is what I know for sure about my life, Personal development, whether you’re just dipping your toe in the water, whether you’re all in, you’re studying it every day, and now you’re starting to lead others, to teach them well… Personal development is the magic bullet.

Is the thing.

You know, everyone is trying to like sell you the thing that’s gonna work. Here’s Tony’s magic formula, here is a pill that you can take, here is a potion that you could drink, here is… and if you just do these three things, then you finally gonna be the person that you wanna be…

And I know for a fact, that the answer is this thing: Is learning, is growing, is being willing to fail. And I know for a fact that’s true because I’m writing to you today as a result of not who I knew, of not who much money my family had, but how hard I was willing to work on myself to get this opportunity.

Now, if you grasp this truth and you want to invest in your growth, join us on November 15 and hear from Rachel Hollis right here in our community.
