Hey, this is Florin with another video. I hope you have a great day.
The topic that I want to share with you today, is servant leadership. And I want you to grasp this because I was not as good as I wanted to be when I was in a leadership position when I led teams and projects. I didn't apply this to the best degree, but I hope you will. I hope you would get this and you apply it.
Some of you that know, last November we had the Live2Lead event in Gothenburg which was a broadcast event from Atlanta, Georgia. And one of the speakers at the event was Chris Hogan. Chris is very well known in the United States and internationally as a keynote speaker and for his motivational talks.
One of the things he shared that stuck with me ever since was this idea of servant leadership. Not only the idea but how do you put it in practice?
Like servant leadership in practice....
What if organizations would be built around people?
A few weeks ago watching the European Premiere of the movie Life on Wheels at an event hosted by Drive Sweden in Gothenburg, my take away was that we build today's cities around cars instead of building them around people.
That's exactly true. I looked outside my home office window and I saw two car parking spots in front of my house.
Reflecting more on this idea, I realized that most companies are built around business systems, production systems, the services and products they offer and no too much around people.
What if companies would be built around people?
What if organizations would focus solely on building the best teams possible?
My opinion is that a top-performing team allows a company to reach any level of performance they set for themselves. Every business should focus on this rather than setting growth objectives first and then recruiting the people to fit the organization's structure and to reach its...
Here is what I know, every time you say YES to something, automatically you say NO to something else. There is real power in knowing what you want and saying NO to what's not in alignment with that. What's your take on this?
Are you a YES or a NO type of person?
One of the great questions I love asking entrepreneurs, business owners, consultants is, "If you'll do it all over again, what would you do differently?"
Here what the top three answers are and why they resonate with him.
What would you do differently if you'll start it all over again?
Tune in for another mindset shift and learn two tips for your year-end reflection time. You'll hear why you shouldn't spend more than 20% of the time you set apart for reflection to look back at 2019 and how to avoid using positive-negatives in your 2020 goal setting.
If you are looking to scaling up your business or you are in a growth phase with your organization, you need to watch this.
Many businesses rush into the growth process chasing lofty financial goals and forget or do not put as much focus as they should on investing in the people that will bring that growth.
Most organizations don't have a sustainable people growth strategy in place to accompany (and actually drive) the financial growth they're seeking.
Here is a question you want to give some thought to when scaling up your organization:
What organization do I need in place in order to reach my growth goals in five years from now?
A question I love asking people is, what was one thing you've done for the first time this week?
The reality is that we don't automatically do new things on a consistent basis unless we are intentional.
So, pick a day and a time this week and plan for a new activity. Maybe attending a new networking activity, calling a new client or a prospect, going to a new restaurant or trying a new place for a business meeting. Anything that makes you feel a little bit uncomfortable.
Have you ever felt you wasted a day of your life? Or that you haven't been as productive as you whished or planed to be?
If that sounds familiar, how did you treat yourself then? Did you beat yourself up as I use to do or you've been kind to yourself and allowed you a day where you didn't live up to your potential?
I use to beat myself up for not doing what I thought I should do and I use to say bad things about me until one day, one of my coaches asked me, how does it serve me? Honestly, I didn't have an answer to that question cause it doesn't serve me.
So, don't beat yourself up for not doing all you could have done yesterday and focus on doing all you can do today.
